The piece is based on a 42 minutes-long improvisation in D that consists in 3 similar but unsynchronized loops, thus creating a potentially infinite random pattern. Those loops where modified several times during the recording process : slowed down half speed, back to normal, up twice the speed, and/or reversed.
Like a landscape that is always similar to itself, but at the same time always different, seamlessly changing. Or like a walk in such a landscape.
This background is cut into 12 tracks to which are added field recordings, like postcards, or like still frame single sequence shots. They were recorded in several places between 2015 and 2020. The field recordings are like figures, specific events that occur on the background.
This album is a tribute to Ambient Music, New-Age and 環境音楽 [Kankyō Ongaku]. Just another attempt to build a contemplation space, to provide a slowed down time. Paradoxically, a certain sense of nature retrieved through technology.
