Bio

Jules-Valentin Boucher
Architect, musician, researcher
Made in Japan
Born in Paris in 1990
Based in Montreuil since 2021

Jules-Valentin Boucher is an architect, a self-taught musician, a researcher and a junior professor. He graduated from Versailles National School of Architecture in 2017, where he teaches as a junior professor.
He is currently a PhD candidate at the CÉRILAC research lab (Université de Paris / Paris-Val de Seine National School of Architecture), under the supervision of Paolo Amaldi (dir.), Lambert Dousson and Gilles Delalex. His ongoing research focuses on minimalism, repetition and indeterminacy in arts, in particular, in the fields of music and architecture, and more specifically in post-war North America.
His architectural practice comprises a wide range of theoretical projects, housing projects (mainly at the Ateliers Mathieu Laporte during two years), and, more recently, of scenography or apartment refurbishment projects, built or in progress.
His musical practice entails solo projects (Jules Valentin) as well as collaborations, notably the duo Geosmin (with 3EHNT a.k.a. Manuel Devier on bass). His sonic studies fluctuate between ambient music, field recording, drone and improvised music.
